Announcements for the week of July 31, 2011

You can have your blood pressure checked for free today after the 10:30 a.m. service. Stop by the chapel after church and a registered nurse will be available to take check your blood pressure.

A Creation Resource! The ministry of Answers in Genesis has equipped thousands to stand firmly on the Word of God rather than on the ideas of sinful, fallen men. Please join with your fellow Lutherans on September 17, 2011 at the Conference Center – Niagara Falls as Ken Ham (CEO/Founder of Answers in Genesis) and Dr. David Menton supply the necessary tools “to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.” 1 Peter 3:15b. Volunteers are needed before the event and the day of. See Mark Binkley for tickets or more information.

Our annual summer Social Ministries project has begun. We are collecting new undergarments, socks, toiletries, and school supplies. All donations will be delivered in September to agencies in Niagara Falls who have requested our help. You can leave your donations on the tables set up in the narthex or chapel. Last year we donated 325 items to local agencies. Your help is needed to make this project a success again this year!!

All Ladies are invited to the Annual Grace Ladies Picnic which will be held this Tuesday, August 2 at 6:00 p.m. at the home of Ruth Kumm. Bring a dish to pass.

Sunday School Staff Meeting – All Sunday School Staff please try to attend our kick off meeting on Sunday, August 14, immediately following the 10:30 a.m. worship service. We will be distributing curriculum, handing out class lists, and making plans for Rally Day, which is Sunday, September 11. Hope to see you!

PAPYRUS CAMP—this is the LAST WEEK to donate toward sending a child to Papyrus Camp at Camp Pioneer. We are hoping to raise the $450 needed to send one child to this special camp for inner city and foster children from Western New York who come from abusive or neglectful family situations. Please consider helping a special child by placing a donation in your special mission envelope (or a plain envelope marked “Papyrus Camp”). For some of the children at this camp it may be the only opportunity they have to learn of the love of Jesus.

Lutheran Campus Ministries on the Niagara Frontier has 2 “work scholarship” openings for area college students. We are looking for students (LCMS preferred) to help with one of six areas for 6-8 hours per week in exchange for a stipend. The areas are General Ministries – Music & Drama – Health Ministries – Communications – Small Group Spiritual Formation or Something Else Jesus-ish.
