CHURCH OFFICE will be open the second Sunday for the month of May, on May 14th, not the first Sunday.
GRACE LADIES are holding a Treichler’s gift certificate sale. Sign-up sheet is on the glass bookcase outside of the sanctuary. The deadline is today, April 30th. Gift Certificates are $25/each and payment is to be made to “Grace Ladies” as they need to prepay for the certificates. The certificate is good for anything at Treicher’s on Saunders Settlement Rd. Don’t forget Mother’s Day and Memorial Day when ordering.
THANK YOU for your generous donations to our April mission project for Oishei Children’s Hospital. We will be delivering your gifts to Oishei this week. They will be used to fill comfort bags that will be given to new admissions to help reduce the stress associated with hospitalizations. Thank you to Jim Wolf, who volunteers at Children’s, for his volunteer work at the hospital that includes distributing these comfort bags. Feel free to speak with Jim if you have an interest in volunteering. Also thank you to Marla Crawford for organizing this project, setting up the tables, and applying for a Thrivent grant to help with our mission.
TODAY is the last day to donate to support Pioneer on the Lake. Several of our teens and their leaders will be joining numerous other youth in May for the camp’s Junior/Senior High retreat weekend, where they will enjoy lots of fun and games, Christian fellowship, worship and devotions, and a service project. Pioneer is offering numerous camps and events this season, including weekend family camps, music week, various retreats for all ages, weekly car cruises, and worship on most Sundays. Various accommodations, including fully equipped and air conditioned cabins, are available for families or groups to rent for a relaxing get-away. If you would like to support the upkeep and programs at Pioneer, please place your mission envelope in the offering plate or donate online under “monthly mission” today.
BEGINNING TOMORROW, donations to our monthly mission are designated to support the LORD’S DAY DINNER OF NIAGARA FALLS. Beginning 30 years ago, a Niagara Falls resident, Yvonne Davis, began serving free holiday take-out dinners through the side door of her home to anyone in need. Along with her husband, Matt, and other family members and volunteers, her mission has expanded to serving annual Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas dinners. Many of the dinners are now held at the VFW on Seneca Avenue because of the numbers they are serving, but this past Easter dinner was again served out of their side door along with an Easter basket for the children, showing how personal this calling continues to be to the Davis family. Your donations will help Yvonne and Matt provide the food needed to serve our neighbors, as well as the other items they often provide through the year such as hygiene products and clothing. If you would like to support the Lord’s Day Dinner, please use your mission envelope or donate online under “monthly mission” during May.
CHOIR will practice after worship today in the balcony. This is our only practice before we sing on May 14. New members are welcome to join us.
SOCIAL MINISTRIES will meet next Sunday, May 7, after worship. Lunch will be shared during the meeting. New members are always welcome.
