THE GLEANINGS: Submission deadline for the next issue is Monday, November 13th.
ATTENDANCE SHEETS found in the bulletin will assist us in making sure that all of our members are being cared for as needed during our vacancy. Please fill them out each week and place them in the offering plate.
THANK YOU to all who supported this year’s Trunk or Treat. Whether you came with your car, helped with food, donated candy, advertised, helped with set up or clean up, supervised games, or helped in any other way, your participation resulted in another successful year with an afternoon of fun and smiles. Check out the Grace Facebook page for pictures.
LOOSE CHANGE SUNDAY: An old favorite from our past Penny Wars is coming back! As we finish up our “Change” the Boiler Fundraiser this month, we are going to hold a Loose Change Sunday on November 19. On that Sunday, we will invite all who wish to participate to “lose” their pocket change (or paper money) onto their pew seats as they leave church after worship. Our Sunday School students will then search the pews for your donations. It’s been pointed out that the majority of our Sunday School children are too young to have participated the last time we held this event. It will be an exciting and fun opportunity for them to be part of our fundraiser. Please consider supporting their search if you are able.
NOVEMBER MISSION ENVELOPES are designated to support Niagara Hospice. Hospice provides specialized care, comfort, and dignity for patients and their families that have a life-limiting diagnosis. They help families maximize quality of life by providing expert symptom management and comprehensive end-of-life guidance. Several cherished members of Grace have utilized Niagara Hospice services as they awaited God’s call to their heavenly home. If you would like to support Niagara Hospice, place your mission envelope in the offering plate during November, or donate online by choosing “monthly mission”.
TWO SUNDAYS REMAIN to participate in our collection of non-perishable food items. We are accepting all non-perishable foods for St. Vincent dePaul food pantry. There is a shopping list available on the donation tables that list the items that are especially helpful to them. All of your donations will be delivered on Thanksgiving weekend to help them prepare for their Christmas distribution of food to our neighbors in need. Thank you for your support.
MACARONI AND CHEESE: We are also accepting donations of macaroni and cheese which will be donated to Potter’s Field to assist them over the coming months as they provide meals to their group of under-supervised and neglected Niagara Falls children. Their group has grown to as many as 55 children meeting several times each week where they receive a meal, stable adult mentorship, and a chance to “just be kids” in a safe environment while learning about the love Jesus has for each of them.
TURKEYS & HAMS: Again this year, we are accepting donations of turkeys and hams which can be stored in our downstairs freezer. We deliver these to various agencies, all located in Niagara Falls, that provide free holiday dinners for our neighbors in need. If you need help carrying your donation downstairs, please ask an usher.
CHOIR REMINDER: There will be a rehearsal in the balcony after worship today.
NEXT SUNDAY there will be a SOCIAL MINISTRIES MEETING in the chapel after worship. Lunch is served during the meeting. New members are welcome.
Check out the CHRISTMAS BOOKLETS made by the Grace Ladies for distribution to our homebound members this December. If you know someone who would appreciate receiving on of these booklets, let a member of the Grace Ladies know. Booklets are display in the chapel on the table with our freshly painted Christmas characters.
