Announcements for Sunday, October 13th

HURRICANE DISASTER RELIEF: If you are looking for a way to donate to LCMS Disaster Response to help the victims of the recent hurricanes, Thrivent is offering to add $1 to every $2 you donate.  You do NOT have to be a Thrivent member to donate.  To donate, go to https://www.thrivent.com/about-us/membership/disaster-response.  Click on “donate now”, and then choose “The Lutheran Church Missouri Synod Disaster Response”.

TRUNK OR TREAT is this Saturday from 3 – 4:30 p.m.  More volunteers are welcome to hand out treats from the trunks of your cars.  In the event of rain, we will move inside.  There is a sign up sheet on the glass case in the chapel.  Please plan to be here by 2:45 to set up.  This is a community event that has been drawing close to 100 children each year.  Your help is greatly appreciated!

THANK YOU for your donations of candy and other treats for our Trunk or Treat.  If you would still like to donate, please bring your donation by Saturday at 2:30 p.m.

OCTOBER MISSION ENVELOPES go to support our youth traveling to New Orleans in July 2025. Audrey Markel, and Daniel and John Bahr are joining 5 other youth in the area to attend the LCMS Youth Gathering. They are about $9,000 into their fundraising goal. Support them with your prayers and dollars, and talk with them for more information.

HARVEST FOOD COLLECTION: Beginning today and continuing through November 24, we will be accepting donations of non-perishable foods to assist our partner agencies in meeting the needs of our community over the holidays.  There are tables set up in the chapel and narthex.  We will be helping two agencies this year, including St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry on Military Road, and the Salvation Army.  Canned meats (tuna, chicken, ham, etc.) will go to the Salvation Army.  All other foods will be delivered to St. Vincent.  There is a SHOPPING LIST available on the tables listing thefoods that are especially needed, but all donations are appreciated.  Please be sure expiration dates are good through at least the end of the year.

TURKEYS & HAMS:  We are also accepting donations of hams and frozen turkeys.  They will be gifted to Niagara Falls agencies that will be providing free Thanksgiving and Christmas meals for our neighbors in need.  They can be stored in our downstairs kitchen freezer.  If you need help carrying, please ask an usher for assistance.

CHOIR: The choir will practice in the balcony after worship next Sunday.

The next RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE will be held here at Grace on Saturday, October 19th from 9am-1pm.
