Announcements for Sunday, July 2nd

GRACE LADIES will have a brief meeting in the Ladies Lounge after worship today.

ATTENDANCE SHEETS found in the bulletin will assist us in making sure that all of our members are being cared for as needed during our vacancy.  Please fill them out EACH WEEK and place them in the offering plate.

THANK YOU for your donations to our Summit Life Resources project.  Baby bottle donations totaled $482.28.  There were also donations of 740 diapers and various other baby items such as blankets, clothes, towels, and toiletries.  Thank you to Wendy Coleman for coordinating this mission project and to Alice Moll for counting all of the change and delivering your gifts to Summit.

NEXT SUNDAY there will be a short, informal meeting in the chapel after worship for anyone who has ideas for fundraisers for our new boiler.  The main purpose of this meeting is to communicate ideas so that different groups are not duplicating the same efforts.  Anyone who has ideas or is interested in organizing a fundraiser is welcome to share.

JULY MISSION ENVELOPES are designated to support WINGS FLIGHTS OF HOPE.  Wings is local group of pilots that volunteer their time and their planes to fly patients, free of charge, to specialty hospitals to receive needed medical care.  Many of these patients cannot use commercial flights because of their health status or the need for special equipment.  If you would like to support Wings, place your mission envelope in the offering plate during July or give online using the “monthly mission” option.

SUMMER MISSION PROJECT:  Beginning today, we are accepting donations of school supplies, craft supplies, socks, and underwear.  Craft supplies will be donated in September to Potter’s Field 99 on Highland Avenue, a group of Christian adults that provides mentoring and activities several times a week for children with limited or inadequate parental supervision.  School supplies and clothing items will be distributed to our inner city children by the teachers and nurses at Harry Abate Elementary School in Niagara Falls.  There are tables available in the chapel and narthex for your donations.

NIAGARA CHOCOLATES candy bar fundraiser.  Our youth is selling Niagara Chocolate candy bars to raise money as part of our “Warm Hearts, Warm Toes” campaign for our new boiler.  Flavors include milk chocolate, peanut butter, almond toffee, caramel, and mint cookie crunch.  The cost is $1.75 each, or two for $3.00.  (If you would like to take a box to sell, please see Virginia Markel or Sherry Cassett.)

100 ENVELOPE FUNDRAISER:  Starting next Sunday, you will find another “Warm Hearts, Warm Toes” fundraiser for our boiler located on the white board in the chapel.  There will be 100 envelopes on the board that are labeled from $1 to $100.  Feel free to take an envelope (or several) of your choice.  Place the requested amount in the envelope and return it to church as soon as you are able.  If all of the envelopes are filled with the requested amount, we will raise $5050 toward the cost of our boiler!!

SIGN UP SHEET:  Help providing snacks for our summer coffee hour would be appreciated.  If you are able to provide some goodies, please sign up for a convenient week on the glass case.
