CHOIR: We will practice in the BALCONY today after worship. We are scheduled to sing THIS WEEK on Good Friday at 6:30 PM and for the 10:30 AM Easter service next Sunday.
MARCH MISSION ENVELOPES are designated toward our Grace Benevolence Fund. This is a small fund that is reserved to provide emergency assistance to members or friends of Grace in times of critical need. Examples of past use include such things as paying an overdue bill to keep a family’s heat or electric working, or buying enough food to last until their next paycheck, or purchasing enough gasoline to allow transportation to necessary medical care. During our vacancy, requests for assistance are handled confidentially by the congregation President and/or head of the Board of Elders. Mission envelope donations during March will bolster this fund, which currently has a low balance.
COMING SOON: During April, we will be accepting donations of items needed for Comfort Bags that are used at Oishei Children’s Hospital. Volunteers distribute Comfort Bags containing small toiletry items, toys, and children’s activity books to all new admissions to Children’s. These bags, along with the volunteer’s visit, help families feel welcomed at a time when many are experiencing high stress levels associated with the hospitalization of their child. There will be “shopping lists” available on our donation tables in the narthex and chapel to offer suggestions for items that are especially helpful. Jim Wolf volunteers weekly with Oishei’s Comfort Bag program, and he would be happy to answer any questions you may have about the bags or about volunteering opportunities at Oishei.
